VIP WECO

During the installation process, rubber sleeves and a rubber lining made of EPDM or NBR coupounds are applied over the damaged are of the inner wall of the pipe. Stainless steel sheeting is then placed over the sleeve and lining. This is then held in place by stainless steel retaining bands allowing up to 20 bar of internal or up to 2.0 bar of external pressure.
Once the VIP-Weco is installed, a safe, durable and low-cost mechanical sealing solutions is achieved. Typical installation time of circa 40 minutes per seal.
For special applications such as longitudinal cracking or where aggressive chemicals are used, we develop bespoke sealing solutions.
Advantages of VIP WECO:
- Reduced downtime thanks to fast installation
- Significant reduction in excavation work, as pipe access is only required every 150-400 m, depending on the pipe diameter
- Can be used for almost all pipe materials (concrete, steel, ductile iron, clay, plastic and GRP)
- Pipe joints, pipe penetrations, recesses, etc. can also be insulated or sealed
- In addition to round profiles, other non-circular profiles (egg, ellipse, oval) can also be sealed.
- The permanent elasticity and flexibility of the sleeves ensures that the pipe connections are permanently sealed, even if the pipe axis shifts after the renovation
- Can be used in both horizontal and vertical pipe systems
- Design life of 100+ years
Configurations
The VIP-WECO can be set up differently for different requirements. We have a suitable product for up to 0.4, 0.8 and 2.0 bar in our portfolio - all variants are tested with an internal pressure of 20 bar. You also have the option of ordering the VIP-WECO as ‘LEM’ liner end and extra long.
Service
The system was designed to allow the user to install the sleeve themselves without needing to purchase expensive technology. Direct training from us at the site of installation can be provided on request.
